I see that some people have been wondering how to make galaxy icons like you see on tumblr and twitter, so I decided to create a tutorial!
1) First, open photoshop and create a new file with the dimensions of 200x200. Make sure it’s transparent.
2) Go on google and search ‘galaxy tumblr’. Choose the galaxy that interests you the most and save it.
3) Once you found your ideal galaxy background, open it in photoshop and drag it on to the 200x200 template you created.
4) Now it’s time to choose your celebrity/wrestler, etc! For this, I chose Trish Stratus. Now, I like to choose pngs for this type of icon, since it’s easier. So, google for example; ‘trish stratus png’ on google images.
5) Then, save it to your computer and open it up in photoshop. Drag it on top of the galaxy background like so;
6) Once you’ve dragged it, sharpen your icon, add coloring, etc.
7) Fun part now! To get those saying that say ‘fuck you’ or the hearts with ‘basic’ on it, google ‘tumblr transparents’. Choose your favorites and open them on photoshop. I’ve chosen two for icons.
8) Drag them and position them where you would like them to be.
9) Once you’ve done that, you’re all set! Just go to file > save for web and devices and click save! Easy as that. You now have a galaxy icon. :)
